Job Description
The Avionics Technician will be involved in heavy modifications on aircraft such as the Hercules C130, Citation 550 & 560, and perform interior upgrades on the 737. The role includes off-aircraft support systems and larger component installations. The technician will fabricate avionics and electrical parts, ensuring all work adheres to applicable manufacturing drawings and installation manuals.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Ensure installations conform to type design and are completed according to SOPs and regulations.
- Identify and resolve non-conformances and discrepancies efficiently.
- Plan and execute avionics installation projects with precision.
- Communicate effectively with peers and manufacturers.
- Ensure the use of calibrated tools and perform regular maintenance on machines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of installation experience with heavy maintenance and landing gear installation.
- Experience with avionics and electrical systems on Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Bombardier, and Cessna aircraft.
- Ability to run comb and clamp harnesses.
- TCAA Approved Avionics or Accredited Avionics course.
- Familiarity with leading avionics brands such as Garmin, Becker, Collins, Honeywell, COBHAM, Technisonic.
- Minimum of two years of experience with aircraft avionics maintenance and installation.
- A&P license or AME E License.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Firefighting conversion experience.
- Experience with C130 and 737 aircraft.
- Familiarity with Sikorsky aircraft products.
- Experience with Garmin equipment.
- Controlled goods knowledge.
- Leadership experience.

Work Environment
The role operates within a team of 14 avionics technicians per shift, with potential split to afternoon shifts in the near future. Work hours are flexible, with options for 6:00 am to 4:30 pm shifts and potential shifts from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am. The work schedule includes 60-hour work weeks, with a rotating cycle of 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off, or ideally 3 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Accommodations and transportation are provided, including company vehicles for site commutes and personal errands. Per diem and travel expenses are covered according to company policy.
